When The Looting Starts The Shooting Starts - Donald Trump
The heartless murder of George Floyd, a Black American living in Minneapolis earlier in the week has led to protest and fires in the city. Thousands, both whites and blacks have been protesting the killing and non-arrest of the white killer cop, Derek Chauvin.
In the course of the riot, the Police Precinct in Minneapolis was burnt, as well as some buildings around the area. Some shops were also looted by protesters. The Mayor of the city had tried to calm the situation but things got out of hand when the Prosecutor claimed there is nothing to charge the killer cops yet.
In a swift and angry reaction, the US President, Donald Trump tweeted that the National Guards would be sent to take over the situation, if necessary.
Here is what Trump said: "I can’t stand back & watch this happen to a great American City, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right........These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!"
Twitter later responded by red-flagging Trump's tweet. The words 'looting and shooting' were flagged as 'glorifying violence' and violates website rules.
It is not clear how Donald Trump would counter-react to this.
