One of the recipients of the brand-new cars awarded at the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival, Mr. Opeoluwa Osisanwo, has paid a courtesy visit to the Ijebu Ode office of telecommunications giant Globacom to express his profound appreciation.

Mr. Osisanwo, who won the car under the Community Service Award category, visited to thank Globacom’s Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., for the honour bestowed on him and the Ijebu community. He also congratulated the company for its continued successful sponsorship of the globally renowned Ojude Oba Festival.

Osisanwo, 52, is a well-respected community leader and has served diligently as the Secretary of the Ojude Oba Festival Planning Committee for over 15 years. He was unanimously selected by the elders of Ijebuland to receive the first of two brand-new Suzuki Celerio vehicles donated by Globacom as part of its support for the festival.

“I am grateful to Globacom for this Community Service Award at the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival. My appreciation goes to the management of Globacom and to the Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., the Otunba Apesin of Ijebuland. I want to thank him sincerely for this great gift in recognition of my service to the community and to the festival committee,” Osisanwo said.

He praised the decision by the elders to select him as a recipient and commended the telecoms company for empowering and celebrating local heroes within the community.

The second car was awarded to Mrs. Idowu Olabisi, a female trader from Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, who won through a competitive contest. Overjoyed, she described the vehicle as a “spectacular Eid gift,” stating she never imagined she would receive such a reward.

In addition to the car gifts, Globacom also donated four brand-new tricycles to residents of Ijebuland. The recipients included Adenike Olanrewaju, a plank seller from Molipa, Ijebu Ode; Hassan Toheeb, a businessman from Ijebu Itele; Gazal Temitope, a trader based in Onisa, Ijebu Ode; and Lawal Tosin, a carpenter from Idowa, Ijebu Ode.
