JASMINE EMPIRE SPEAKS OUT ON HOW THE MANAGEMENT OF CHEVY VIEW ESTATE IS FRUSTRATING HER BUSINESS

With how terrible business and economy have been in Nigeria when enterprises are wobbling and struggling to stay afloat, Chevy View Estate is allegedly frustrating the business of some individuals in the estate. How do they expect a business to thrive when clients from outside the Estate are being turned back from the gate by its Security men?
This is the ordeal of the CEO of Jasmine Empire located in Chevy Estate, beside Chevron, Lekki Lagos State. In a Tiktok and Instagram posts, she explains how her clients have complained of not been allowed access to her beauty shop whenever they were coming to patronized her. Some of them angrily said the security agents would not allow them enter the estate gates even after calls have been made.
Jasmine empire caters for beauty and spa needs of women and children within the estate and because of her excellent services, her clientele extends to other parts of the Island. This is a business she has been doing for the past seven years, starting from a rented parlour until about four years ago when she bought and refurnished her own building for the business. It seems it was at this point that her business was targeted for whatever they are doing now. The EXCOS came up with an increased development levy while she was renovating which wasn’t convenient for her but she had to agree to comply and even paid part of the amount agreed. It is therefore strange to her that the management of the Estate would determine to harm her business by stopping non-residents from using her services. Even her Staff get the same treatment as they are also restricted at the gate when resuming for work. Most times she had to go the gate go pick them since business owners were removed from the Estate Residents platform where they could generate codes for visitors.
She further explained that she has made several efforts to get the management to address the matter but no avail. Messages sent to the EXCOs were not responded. She couldn’t understand why she was singled out for this frustration. She is up to date with her Estate dues. Not able to bear it, last week she matched to the gate of the estate to confront the security men on duty. This was after a call by another client who was stopped from coming to her shop at the gate. One of the security men who could be seen in a video she recorded asked to go and see the Estate Managers and that there was no instruction to stop anyone duly cleared to enter the estate. But this was not satisfactory and she had to probe further before she was later informed that the restriction was to make Estate businesses cater for residence. This too did not make sense to her because other businesses operate in the estate without any form of restrictions. Both K-Cee Limpopo and E-Money had Hotel businesses there and their costumers come in without any restriction. Other shops and businesses operate unhindered. Why is her case different? Why the threats?
As far as Jasmine is concerned, there is something sinister about this action and none of the EXCOs is coming out to speak on that. She therefore cries out to the public to see how Chevy View Estate is treating a hardworking entrepreneur, a single mother of three who is doing her best to take care of her children with the earnings from Jasmine Empire. This unfair, indiscriminate oppressing and maltreatment has to stop.
