According to a statement signed by the Company Secretary, Michael Otu, her appointment takes effect June 1, 2024. the current GMD is Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, whose tenure expires on May 31.

Dr Adaora Umeoji is 55 year old with nearly thirty years of banking experience, twenty-six of which has been with Zenith Bank. She has served as the deputy-managing director of the bank since in October 2016.

Her Educational background has been the talk of town since her announcement, top of which is being an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School, where she completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP). She also obtained a Certificate in the Global Banking Program from the Columbia Business School. Prior to these, she had studied in the University of Jos, Plateau State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. The task ahead is huge, but if any man could do it, she will.
