Nigerian talent manager and entrepreneur Ubi Franklin is mourning the heartbreaking loss of his sister, who passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

In an emotional Instagram post, Franklin announced the news to his followers, describing her as one of the kindest, most selfless people he had ever known. He credited her not only with shaping his personal life but also with playing a pivotal role in launching his career in the entertainment industry.

“This is one of the biggest losses of my life,” Franklin wrote. “The one who birthed the Ubi Franklin you all know today.”

Franklin recounted how, following the death of their father in 2004, his sister took him in while he was still a student at Madonna University. The pivotal moment in his life, he said, came during a holiday in December 2005 when his sister brought him to Lagos to visit their elder brother — a trip that ultimately marked the beginning of his professional journey.

“I became my brother’s PA, but she always reminded me, ‘Before anyone else, you were my PA,’” he recalled. “And she never stopped calling me that. Even till her last days.”

Franklin shared that he had spent meaningful time with his sister from April through early July this year. On July 3, before traveling to England, he bid her farewell with hopes of reuniting soon. Tragically, she passed away in the early hours of July 14, shortly after being moved to an intensive care unit in Abuja.

“I did everything within my power to make it to Abuja,” Franklin said. “But while I was airborne, she passed on. When I landed at 4:20 a.m., she was already gone, though the news was withheld from me until later that day.”

Through his grief, Franklin expressed profound gratitude for the relationship they shared. He described her as his “backbone,” “rock,” and “biggest cheerleader,” noting how her influence helped shape the man he is today.

“I will forever love you,” he wrote. “And I know… you’re in a better place.”

As condolences continue to pour in from fans and colleagues, many have joined Franklin in honoring the legacy of a woman whose kindness, strength, and unwavering support touched countless lives.
