Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, one-half of the iconic Afrobeats duo PSquare, has officially confirmed the permanent end of the group, signaling a full transition into his solo career.

PSquare, once made up of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, rose to fame in the early 2000s and became one of Africa’s most successful musical acts. However, the group has had a history of breakups and reunions, leaving fans hopeful for a lasting comeback. That hope now appears to be officially over.

Responding to a tweet that read, “There will be nothing like PSquare forever. There’s time for everything,” Peter, also known as Mr. P, affirmed the statement and explained that he is now fully focused on his solo path.

“Exactly! Judeboy & Rudeboy, that’s the new JPsquare—make una manage them. It’s their time,” Peter wrote, referring to his elder brother Jude Okoye (Judeboy) and twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy). “I dey on my own dey run my own race. I am my own Square.”

This latest statement puts to rest ongoing speculation about the group’s future following a brief reconciliation in 2021 after years of tension and public fallout.

Peter emphasized that while his brothers continue to collaborate, he has chosen a different path. “I am my own Square,” he declared, reaffirming his commitment to his individual career.

Fans of the group have reacted with mixed emotions online—some expressing disappointment, while others offer support for each brother’s chosen direction.

As P-Square officially fades into music history, Peter Okoye is making it clear: his journey as a solo artist is just getting started.
