OWNER OF CHUKS SUPERMARKETS IN LOKOJA SHOT BY ROBBERS

Mr Nicholas Ofodile, owner of the popular chain of Chuks Supermarket in Lokoja, Kogi State has been gunned down by high way robbers.
The incidence which happened yesterday along Gegu-Kotonkarfe Express road occurred when men of the Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) were engaging yet to be identified gunmen who were robbing along the road. Eyewitnesses said Ofodile driving along ran into the crossfire and was shot. He was said to have died on the spot alongside two other persons.
A week earlier, a gang of suspected robbers had invaded Isanlu, another town in Kogi state and killed about 8 people in a bank and a police station. With these, it would appear despite the effort of the State government to curb the activities of gunmen and highway armed robbers, this situation is yet to abate.
