‘A Lot Of Her Followers Are Genuine But Genuinely Misled’
Opinion: Nigerians supporting Senator Natasha do so for a variety of reasons -
Firstly, there are those motivated by political reasons. These are members of opposition parties who perceive Senator Natasha as a powerful instrument to challenge the government of President Tinubu. And this is a fact. Senator Natasha is a member of the PDP.
Secondly, there are Nigerians driven by regional interests. These individuals are trying to utilise Senator Natasha's to drive a Northern agenda against what they perceive to be a Southern dominated government. Or as some would put it President Tinubu’s Yoruba government. This group comprises Northern political leaders who regard the National Assembly as the vulnerable point from which to destabilize the government.
Thirdly, there exist activists and political / social reformers who do not align with specific political or regional ideologies. They see Senator Natasha as a key figure capable of dismantling a system they deem corrupt and occupied by powerful and entitled individuals. This group includes civil rights groups and female gender advocacy groups.
Fourthly, there is a cohort I refer to as the "Moral Mass." These individuals view Senator Natasha as a moral reformer committed to cleansing a system they perceive as immoral and depraved.
Fifthly, the "I Am Natasha" group represents a diverse demography including individuals from Kogi Central and surrounding northern regions. This group is also comprises women who resonate with Natasha's experiences and those who identify her as an advocate for women across Nigeria who have faced sexual harassment.
Each of these groups possesses vested interests in this case. While some motivations may be politically self-serving, a significant number of her supporters are genuine but genuinely misled. She has whipped up emotions and sentiment and playing the tragic role of lady Portiphar beautifully.
A common flaw among these five groups is their tendency to conflate activism with fact and evidence. They need to recognize that emotional investment does not equate to verifiable proof, and fervor should not substitute for the principles of law. Activism is not Factism. Emotion is not Evidence. And Passion does not equate to Principles of Law.
Despite Senator Natasha's substantial following, it is clear that many of her supporters are prioritizing their emotional responses over rational discourse. I can’t help but notice that facts presented to them are overshadowed by entrenched biases.
As a legal professional, I must warn them
that the courts operate on strict principles of law based on a set facts rather than emotion. It is essential for these supporters to understand that if Senator Natasha's evidence in her defense does not satisfy the stringent legal standards required for both her civil and criminal cases, she will face dire consequences. This is the inherent nature of the law. Conversely, the opposing party must also meet the burden of proving their case beyond all reasonable doubt to avoid facing similar sanctions.
Therefore, prior to rendering any judgment, I urge all parties to familiarize themselves with the legal principles relevant to Senator Natasha’s allegations. My analysis will focus on the topic of sexual harassment. It is important to remember that Senator Natasha on 28th Feb 2025 publicly accused the Senate President on Arise TV of attempting to engage in inappropriate conduct with her (carnal knowledge). Additionally, she accused him and the former Governor of Kogi State of conspiring to assassinate her.

Till date Sen. Natasha has been unable to present any facts or evidence to back up her allegation against the Senate President. In the meantime she has had no difficulty sharing chats she's had with Dr Sandra Duru and a fellow Senator. It is becoming increasingly clear she has no evidence against the Senate President.
Senator Natasha must therefore present the following -
(1) Chats
(2) Voice notes
(3) CCTV Camera recordings
(4) Witnesses
(5) Cards
(6) Phone video recordings
(7) Photographs
Among other material evidence the court may require
