Another dead body was found yesterday on an untarred road in Ihube area of Umunnem Ihukwu Mere.

According to John Okoye who returned from the village and reported this news on his Facebook page, the body of Chinedu was found lying on the road having been killed allegedly by Fulani herdsmen.

John Okoye posted thus: "Just got back from Ihube, umunnem ihukwu mere.

Please use every legal means to protect yourself, these Fulani herdsmen are not stopping soon. Lying here is Chinedu, a young man murdered by herdsmen.

Well, I gathered they've been arrested and the community leaders have promised to follow up the case.

These herdsmen are heavy on cheap drugs too that's why it's easy for them to just slaughter anyone talking to them."

Many have been reporting similar killings in various villages in Imo State and they are attributing them to killer Fulani herdsmen. Such people have also warned that the presence of Fulani herdsmen in the bushes of Imo State poses a threat to the lives of the people of the state who have to go to their farms daily but are usually afraid of being attacked.

It will, however, be expedient for the Nigerian police to investigate these killings to ascertain and prosecute the perpetrators of this crime.
