Liverpool FC forward Diogo Jota has tragically died at the age of 28 following a fatal road accident in Spain. The incident occurred on the A-52 motorway near kilometre 65, in the municipality of Palacios de Sanabria, located in the province of Zamora.

According to Spanish sports outlet MARCA, Jota was killed at the scene of the crash, which also claimed the life of his 26-year-old brother, Andre. The vehicle they were travelling in reportedly caught fire following the collision.

Jota, born in December 1996, began his Premier League journey with Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017 after an initial loan from Atlético Madrid. His standout performances earned him a transfer to Liverpool in 2020, where he quickly became a key figure in the squad under manager Jürgen Klopp.

Liverpool FC has yet to issue an official statement, but tributes have already begun pouring in from across the football world, mourning the loss of a talented and respected professional whose career and life were tragically cut short.

Authorities in Spain are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
