Mary Wilson, Motown singer and Supremes co-founder has on Tuesday sied at 76 in her home in Las Vegas.

The news was reported by her publicist Jay Schwartz in a statement given to RT News which declares that the circumstances around her death are yet to be released.

"Mary Wilson was extremely special to me. She was a trailblazer, a diva and will be deeply missed," Berry Gordy, founder of Motown records said.

"The Supremes were always known as the sweethearts of Motown. Mary along with Diana Ross and Florence Ballard came to Motown in the early 1960s. After an unprecedented string of No.1 hits, television and nightclubs bookings, they opened doors for themselves, the other Motown acts and many many others... She was a trailblazer, a diva and will be terribly missed", he added.

The Supremes consisting of three teenagers at the time, as one of them who was supposed to make them four left, had limited early success but had success in the late sixties with hits like "Stop! In the Name of Love" and "Baby Love".

The singer was survived by two children, a boy and a daughter and 10 grandchildren.
