Jonathan Disowns Speech On Biafra And Niger Delta
Once again, Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has had the cause to refute a speech credited to him giving reasons why the people of the Niger Delta would not be part of Biafra, a nation being sought by a section of the South East, especially by members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB).
The statement was purported to have been made at an event in Texas, USA. Goodluck Jonathan, through his spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, said the story circulating online is false and the handwork of unscrupulous elements. Eze explained that there was never a time the former president made such statement and neither did he travel to the US at this time.
Recall that in 2017, a similar report was circulated online and Jonathan made a disclaimer to that effect. Jonathan wonders why it is coming up again and who is responsible.
