The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for the mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
In a statement issued on Sunday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board confirmed that results for 11,161 candidates have been released out of the 96,838 who were scheduled to sit for the exam.
According to the statement, candidates unable to access their results likely failed to follow the official instructions. JAMB reiterated that only candidates who sent “UTMERESULT” as a single word via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number used during registration, would be able to retrieve their scores.
In a related development, JAMB provided an update on the ongoing prosecution of individuals involved in the fabrication of fake admission letters.
The Board recalled a joint press conference held on April 13, 2024, with the Nigeria Police Force, during which it was revealed that a syndicate had been producing fake JAMB admission letters for a fee. Following a thorough investigation carried out with the assistance of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC), five key members of the syndicate were arrested.
The suspects, identified as Effa Leonard and four others, reportedly confessed to producing the forged documents and are currently facing prosecution at the Federal High Court in Abuja in the case titled Inspector General of Police vs. Effa Leonard & 4 Others.
JAMB further disclosed that, based on the syndicate’s confessions, a total of 17,417 candidates have been flagged as beneficiaries of the fake admission letters and are under further investigation.
The Board reiterated its commitment to upholding the integrity of the admissions process and warned prospective candidates and institutions to beware of fraudulent actors and follow only official channels.
