Nigerian singer and music producer, Jay Pizzle, born Joshua Osaijiokwoeh, has revealed that he gets inspired to produce new songs whenever he is lonely.
The singer said this during an interview, “What inspires me the most is loneliness. I become extremely creative when I am alone and when I’m happy. If I’m not in my best mood, I would not be able to do anything or if I do, it wouldn’t come out well.”
On his album, Voltage, the music producer who also stated why it is named such said,“It is my first EP but I have released singles in the past. The album was inspired during the COVID-19 lockdown when I was in London (United Kingdom). Immediately I got the idea, I sent it to some artistes to work on it. It was not planned at all. It was a product of boredom.”
He further said, “I named it voltage because of the sound. I wanted the sound to have a ‘bang’ and an electro feel. We can say that it’s because of the energy it brings.
“I think it was the song, Run Mad, by Terry G in 2012. It was initially an experiment until people started calling me that the song had gone viral. The song opened a lot of doors for me. From that experience, I have learnt to do what I am passionate about without thinking about the money. Once the work is well done, the money would come.”
