Hushpuppi, Woodberry And 10 Cybercriminals In Dubai Police Net
Suspected Cyber Criminals, Ramoni Igbalode better known as Hushpuppi, Olalekan Jacob Ponle known as Woodberry, and ten others have been arrested by Dubai Police for money laundering and online fraud.
HE Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, confirms their arrest through “Fox Hunt 2”, a police manhunt for cybercriminals and money lauders by the Emirate's police.
The Police explained the criminals " ... were designing and mimicking company and bank websites to steal credit card data and illegally obtain victims’ money before laundering the cash."
Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department at Dubai Police, said that "The gang including Hushpuppi, known for his display of wealth on social media. He would pose as a businessman to lure victims from all around the world. A team of Dubai Police monitored the gang that was creating accounts on social media with fake names."
The following were found in Hushpuppi's apartment during his arrest.
1. 5 Hard drives with 119580 files.
2. 21 laptops.
3. 47 phones.
4. 15 flashes.
5. 13 automobiles.
He was linked to 1 Billion & 600 Million Dirhams (UAE currency) and 1, 926, 400 victims.
Hushpuppi and his gang members would be prosecuted by the Dubai Police.
