Gospel Sensation, Blessing Oonomoesi Drops Uplifting Single ‘Imela’
Emerging gospel musician, Blessing Onomoesi is set to release her debut single, 'Imela'.
The beautiful masterpiece translating to “Thank You” in english is a heartfelt expression of gratitude to God’s unwavering love and goodness.
Blessing said the new song is a message of thanksgiving, having reflected on God’s goodness and unwavering love.
“It dropped in my spirit a couple of months ago, and I knew it was meant to be shared with the world.”, she said.
Growing up as the youngest of 13 children in a polygamous Christian home, Blessing's love for music and the lord began at a young age. She said, "I’ve always loved the things of God from as little as 8 years old, I sang in the children’s choir, participated in almost every activity in church," she recounted.
Her passion for gospel music is inspired by legendary artiste, CeCe Winans, whose influence, she said helped shape her style and purpose.
“CeCe Winans was an epitome of how I loved to love on God with music, so I just followed,” she disclosed.
On her single set for release in December 26,2024, she said she simply wants to help others connect to God through one of the expressions of worship- music.
"The songs have to be sung the way I heard it.
I’m a huge beneficiary of God’s love and overwhelmed by it, actually. I can’t imagine life outside him. He gave me a beautiful gift, so why not hail him daily with it", she gushed.
As with every successful one, Blessing did not hit the limelight without a rough patch, notable of which was losing her voice for three weeks during the creative process.
She recalled, “Something like that had never happened to me before. The longest I’d gone with a bad voice was five days, so it became a source of worry. But the Holy Spirit came through.”
On what her next project looks like, the Edo- born artiste excitedly revealed "Yes! Anticipate,. We’re working and coming out with more soulful and spirit-lifting songs".
