Ghana To Rebuild Demolished Nigeria High Commission Guest House
The Ghanaian government has agreed to rebuild the part of the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana demolished by "unknown gunmen" on Friday last week invaded the premises of the High Commission with a bulldozer and pulled down the building.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Godfrey Onyema announced this on Thursday, saying this is a response to Nigeria's diplomatic complaints against the illegal demolition. Two people in connection with the demolition have been arrested and being prosecuted.
Ghana had also tendered an official apology to Nigeria and has promised to issue Nigeria a deed of title to the land. They also assured Nigerians living in Ghana of their safety and security.
There are about 6million Nigerians living and doing business in Ghana.
