Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Kano State Governor bewailed on Monday over the ruling All Progressives Congress which according to him is a 'mixture' party and yet to attain the status of a compound party.
The Governor stated this at a meeting chairman by Professor Tahir Mamman in a town hall which was organised by the APC Constitutional Review Committee and attended by the House Leader, House of Representative, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Speaker Kano State House of Assembly Right Hon Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, Senator Abba Aji, Secretary to Kano State Government and a host of others.
He said "The APC as a party started as a mixture of the ACN, ANPP, APGA, PDP, CPC. That is a mixture of various elements trying to make a compound.
"But unfortunately, up till now the APC is steel a 'mixture' and is not graduated to the next level to become a compound."
The Governor in explaining the difference between a 'mixture' and a 'compound' said a 'mixture' is something that can be easily separated if ions are used while a 'compound', if any part is removed still remains a compound.
He continued, "With this review, we will look into that. While redirecting all those appendages, we will now come to have a single and indivisible party as an entity."
Ganduje who said that the review would after re-assessing the process and situation reproduce a document to check and control the party people and government, revealed that the norm was that after election, parties are abandoned until the next selection.
"But our great party, the APC, now said no to this. Even during elections, you will see that it is only candidate who control parties, not party leaders. We also said no to this.
"APC, as a party had made numerous mistakes and paid for it, therefore, it is time to look back and review some of the lapses so as to redresse anomalies in the conduct of the governance," he added.
