ENDSARS PROTEST BAN: NOLLYWOOD ACTOR YOMI FABIYI WRITES LAGOS POLICE COMMISSIONER

Dear Commissioner of Police,
I read your THREAT that any new protest will be resisted be it PEACEFUL or otherwise and my heart aches. As a Nigerian and Human Rights vanguard you should be proud of the present Nigerian Youths, we have thus far conducted ourselves peacefully for twelve days expressing ourselves on menace that has killed and maimed our brothers, sisters, parent and loved ones. This amidst vast unemployment and underdevelopment.
In Alausa, we were attacked three times with guns, matchets and other dangerous weapons. We were not protected by the Police and yet NO ONE OF US DESTROYED OR REACTED VIOLENTLY.
If you truly understand that Police and the Military are to protect and preserve Human Rights, the threat that PEACEFUL PROTEST will be resisted will not emanate from you sir. Sir your first name is yours but your family name was given to you, it belong to many, preserve it and remember posterity. Police and Army are NOT meant to point or shoot the guns at the citizens they are meant to protect.
We demanded for NATIONAL EMERGENCY NUMBER, nothing said till now. We demanded that JUDGES should not accept suspect INTERROGATION and statement except done via VIDEO, no response. We ask that Executive Order should be placed on TORTURE in and out of law enforcement facilities, no word. We also ask for STATE POLICE, Federal government are ignoring. And quite obvious was the request that ALL POLICE OFFICERS undergo HUMAN RIGHTS EVALUATION TEST, we got nothing. Salary increase is not the only aspect of POLICE WELFARE, we need a careful blueprint on Police Reform.
And except you want Nigerians to fool you, they know we PEACEFUL PROTESTERS are not responsible for vandalization. The right you have as Nigerian Police Officers are what we have as Citizens of Nigeria to Peacefully Protest. If you don't order killings of Nigerians for peacefully demanding this, there won't be any violence. Stop denying the masses just to satisfy the very few ENSLAVING YOUR FAMILY AND OURS.
With all modesty and NO FEAR, Nigerians have right to PEACEFUL PROTEST anytime, kindly provide security and NOT threat.
