Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has weighed in on the ongoing discussion about popular musician Asake’s childhood and the impact of parental rejection.

Amusa took to Instagram to share her thoughts, reflecting on Asake’s decision to cover his face in tattoos. She suggested that it could be a sign of rebranding or a way to mask deeper emotional pain.

However, instead of passing judgment, she emphasized that Asake deserves love and support rather than public scrutiny. She highlighted how parental rejection can leave lasting emotional scars, stressing that neither fame nor wealth can heal the wounds of a loveless childhood.

The Power of Parental Presence

Drawing from her own personal experiences, Amusa expressed empathy for Asake’s situation and urged parents to be emotionally present for their children.

“When Asake covered his face in tattoos, I once remarked that he was either rebranding or masking a pain he wasn’t ready to confront,” she wrote.

“His childhood remains a mystery—some say his father was absent, others claim his mother was harsh. But I won’t judge a father who left or a mother who did what she could. What matters is that Asake deserves love, not a public spectacle.”

She further noted that children raised with love and affirmation grow up with a different sense of self-worth compared to those who feel abandoned.

“Fame doesn’t heal the wounds of parental rejection. A child raised on ‘I love you’ moves through life differently than one who hears, ‘I want nothing to do with you.’ Some wounds money cannot fix—only deep, intentional healing can.”

Amusa urged parents to be the first source of love and affirmation for their children, stating that when children feel truly seen and valued at home, they have less to prove to the world.

“As a victim of such circumstances, I can relate. I wish him well,” she concluded.

Her post comes amid ongoing discussions about Asake’s reconciliation with his father and his promise to provide financial and medical support for him.

Portable in Custody Battle with Third Baby Mama, Honey Berry

Controversial singer Portable is embroiled in a custody dispute with his third baby mama, Honey Berry, who has accused him of making threats against her.

The disagreement began when Portable allegedly sent a direct message demanding custody of their son, which Honey Berry, whose real name is Keji, refused.

Taking to Instagram, Keji condemned Portable’s behavior, calling him a ‘deadbeat father’ and warning that he should be held accountable for his actions

In her posts, Keji criticized Portable’s parenting style, claiming he is inconsistent and does not offer much support for their child.

“I consider this a threat. You stated that you want nothing to do with me and my son. If you don’t want misfortune in your life, don’t ever threaten me,” she wrote.

“If you go low, I will go lower. If you bring fire to my door, I will bring hell to yours.”

This is not the first public feud between Portable and Keji.

Last year, Portable accused her of infidelity, leading to a heated exchange between them.

The latest controversy comes amid a series of online dramas involving the singer, who has also been making headlines for his music and personal life.
