DADDY FREEZE OPENS UP ABOUT HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH HUSHPUPPI

Media personality Daddy Freeze has recently shed light on his relationship with notorious internet fraudster Hushpuppi, who was arrested in 2020 for his role in a transnational cybercrime network. In a video posted by Tunde Ednut, Daddy Freeze clarified that while Hushpuppi never gave him money, he offered much-needed friendship during a challenging period in the influencer’s life.
According to Daddy Freeze, their friendship began when he was invited to Dubai along with other influencers. At the time, he was grappling with public and church rejection due to his #FreeTheSheepple movement. Recounting the early days of their interaction, Daddy Freeze explained that Hushpuppi reached out to him via direct message, inviting him to hang out. The pair spent time together, taking photos and sharing moments on Snapchat.
Addressing criticism over maintaining the friendship, Daddy Freeze questioned why he should abandon a bond formed when he was isolated, emphasizing that Hushpuppi stood by him when others did not. Despite acknowledging that he may have had reservations about the legitimacy of Hushpuppi’s wealth, he invoked Davido’s lyric “dey for who dey for you” to highlight the importance of loyalty.
Hushpuppi, whose real name is Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, was arrested in June 2020 in Dubai by the local police. Accused of being a central figure in a cybercrime network that laundered hundreds of millions of dollars through scams like business email compromise frauds, he was later extradited to the United States. There, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to engage in money laundering and received an 11-year federal prison sentence.
