President Donald Trump has announced early friday morning that he and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for coronavirus.

Trump tweeted:
Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!"

The test had to be carried out after one of Trump's close aides, Hope Hicks tested positive.

The President's physician, Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley, wrote to reporters that, "The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence."

He further said "The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country's greatest medical professionals and institutions,

"Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any further developments."

Trump is 74 years old, an age in the highest risk category for covid19.
Covid19 is responsible for over 200,000 deaths of Americans and many still infected.

Trump has been criticized for not taking the pandemic seriously and not wearing masks or encouraging people to wear. He even criticized those who did.
During last Tuesday presidential debate, President Trump mocked Joe Biden for frequently wearing a mask.

It is already being speculated that this development of infection could destabilizing the US political climate and the stock market.
