Former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings has died on Thursday morning of Covid19 related illness.
It was reported that he took I'll shortly after burying his mother who died in September at age 101 but buried on October. He was moved to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after displaying symptoms of corona virus. According to BBC News, he died in the hospital at the age of 73 this morning.
Jerry Rawlings became a military ruler in 1981 but later joined politics and became a civilian President for two terms from 1992.
