Veteran Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle has expressed his opinion on the letter of Apology written by the Solicitors to controversial Social critic, Martin Otose, popularly known as Very Dark Man over the mention of a revered lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr Femi Falana and his son, who is also a lawyer, Falz Da Bad Guy, in the case involving cross-dresser, BobRisky.
Very Dark Man had on Wednesday leaked an audio conversation purportedly between Bobrisky and his acquaintance known as Radio Gap, a nurse living in the USA. In the audio, Bobrisky could be heard narrating how he bribed the EFCC officers to remove the money laundering charge from his case so he was prosecuted for a minor offence. He also allegedly mentioned in the audio Femi Falana and Falz as part of those who helped arrange for him not to spend his term in prison, but rather, in a private apartment.
Very Dark Man in a video on social media questioned why Falz and Femi Falana would involve themselves in such corruption and asked the EFCC to investigate all those whose names were mentioned. Many Nigerians expressed their anger over the mention of a respected lawyer and senior advocate of Nigeria on such a matter.
Falz, a musician, lawyer and also a social activist wrote to VDM demanding an apology and retraction of these allegations. He argued that he did not initiate any call to Bobrisky on this matter contrary to VDM's accusation that Falz reached out to Bobrisky and offered to help him. Very Dark Man had also insinuated that Falz is homosexual, which he saw as defamation.
In response to that, a letter, purportedly emanating from a chamber that represents Very Dark Man surfaced on the internet explaining that their client did not defame or disrespect Femi Falana, but also asked the aggrieved to approach Bobrisky to clear their name. It is to this letter that Patrick Doyle responded to. Below is what the actor wrote on his Facebook page:
