Prominent Nigerian actors and filmmakers Kunle, Gabriel, and Aremu Afolayan are grieving the loss of their beloved mother, Omoladun Afolayan, who passed away at the age of 81. The family announced the news on social media, sharing heartfelt tributes to honor her life.
Kunle Afolayan, known for his significant contributions to Nollywood, shared an emotional message on Instagram, expressing the family’s sorrow while finding comfort in their mother’s well-lived life. "It is hard to accept but she surely lived a good life. Our mother, Maami Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan, has gone to rest (1943-2024). She’s survived by children and grandchildren. Please put us in your prayers. Omo re a gbeyin gbogbo wa. Ire,” he wrote.
Aremu Afolayan also paid tribute with a heartfelt post, asking for peace and happiness for his mother in her eternal rest. “Maami… Rest well. May the Lord grant you happiness wherever you are. I love you,” he expressed.
Gabriel Afolayan, a celebrated actor and singer, reflected on the void his mother’s passing has left in their lives. “Home is not cool. We lost a dear one… Big mummy (iya Oyo), you’ll be greatly missed. We all love you to bits. I’ll miss my gist and dance partner. Rest on,” he shared.
