Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has ignited fresh controversy with his assertion that men are not biologically wired to remain sexually faithful to one woman. Speaking on the 234 Mzansi podcast hosted by Nedu Wazobia and others, the 49-year-old singer said that while a man may deeply love and respect a woman, staying sexually exclusive is against his natural biology.
“A man’s heart and love can belong to one woman, but sexually, it’s difficult to be with just one. That’s the man’s biology,” 2Baba claimed. He acknowledged that while some men make different choices, most are shaped by this natural instinct.
The comments come amid ongoing public curiosity surrounding his personal life, particularly his past relationship with actress Annie Idibia. 2Baba confirmed that their marriage had ended, describing the separation as mutual.
“Annie and I had a good bond. She’s an amazing person, but it wasn’t working anymore,” he said, urging couples not to remain in unhappy marriages out of fear of societal judgment. “Only the couple knows what they’re going through. Many live in bondage trying to please society.”
Reflecting on his relationships, 2Baba praised the mothers of his children, including Annie and his current partner, Natasha Osawaru. He said his relationship with Natasha is based on emotional safety and mutual respect, not just physical attraction.
“What matters is having someone I can talk to honestly, someone I can laugh with,” he said, adding that he pays no attention to public opinions, focusing instead on the wellbeing of his children.
2Baba’s comments have stirred conversations online, reigniting debates on love, fidelity, and modern relationships.
