A  deadly Pool?  "i Want Justice For My Late Brother"- Ogogo Chukwudi

On or about October 27, 2018, an unidentified Youth Corper allegedly went swimming in the private swimming pool located inside the imposing estate of Idumuje Ugboko's billionaire, Ned Nwoko; the alleged Youth Corper drowned in the pool.

One year after the Corpers alleged death in the pool,  Ogogo Blessing a 27-year-old Okada rider and beloved freelance Disc Jockey, from Onicha Ugbo, picked a passenger from Issele Ukwu. The passenger allegedly stated destination as Ned Nwoko’s massive country home. A few minutes after they arrived, the Issele Ukwu Police Command was notified of a dead body allegedly floating in the pool. The police arrived and found  Ogogo drowned. The police allegedly removed  Ogogo's body, first transported it to the hospital before it was moved to a mortuary.

Ogogo's younger brother, Ogogo Chukwudi Richard was at work in Asaba when he received a call to hurry back to Onicha Ugbo. He arrived home, asked after his mother, he was told mother was at a nearby church, anguished and praying. The church was an instant sanctuary for a painful and broken heart, those moments. Young Ogogo Chukwudi learned that his brother died "while swimming at Ned Nwoko's swimming pool".

The family was contacted by the Police in Issele Ukwu of their son's mysterious death. Days after,  the police released the corpse to the family. This is where the story got bizarre:

Ogogo Chukwudu Richard narrates:

" The police took my late brother's body to the hospital where he was confirmed dead, then hurriedly moved the body to the mortuary and ordered it embalmed... When police found him at Ned Nwokos compound, he had his Identity Card. His ID had his private information, including the name of his village, town and phone number..... The Police neither contacted my mother nor any member of our family before it illegally embalmed my brother’s body.....We did not authorize anyone to embalm his body. There is no autopsy. The Police could have traced our home or contact, with the information on my brother's Identity Card. We are still waiting for his personal things such as his phone, his wallet and other things police found with him when he allegedly drowned. I am seeking justice for my late brother. He was 25 years old. I am 23.

" The police also claimed it took pictures of my brother’s body floating in Ned Nwoko’s private home swimming pool.  We are still waiting for the police to release the pictures it took at the crime scene.... something is not right the way my brother died in the swimming pool. They are claiming he died in the swimming pool, but where is the autopsy to prove that? Why did the police hurriedly embalmed his body without our authorization? How can an Okada rider just walk into a private secure home with massive security gates and people, took off his clothes and jumped into the swimming pool? Who else was there?. Is the swimming pool a public recreation place that everybody can walk into and just swim. Where was the passenger that my brother picked from Issele Ukwu to the compound? The Police is covering up my brother's death...

"The Ned Nwoko representatives brought N500,000 ( five hundred thousand Naira) to our family to support for the burial. My mother and I refused that. They went to the Obi of Onicha Ugbo, alongside with the elders of my family. I am young, so understand that as a young man my resistance would be considered insubordination to the elders, but I remained firm. The elders went to the Obi with the money. They decided to use the money to buy a coffin and paid for other funeral rites for Blessing, against the wish of my mother and me. I had the money to bury my older brother. I did not need anyone to help me bury him. After the burial, the elders brought back N419,000 ( Four hundred and nineteen thousand Naira) to my mom and me.

 We refused the money.

They left the money with us, telling us we could do whatever we wished with the money. We donated the money to the Church Of God Mission at Ogbe Obi in Onicha Ugbo., We do not want any money from Ned Nwoko. We want justice. My mother does not have the strength to go through the agony and exhaustion of seeking justice for her older son. She has left her son's death circumstance in God's hands. But I want justice for us. I just want to know how my brother was found dead inside Ned's swimming pool, why did the police rush to embalm his body. This is the second death within twelve months that a stranger suddenly jumped in that swimming pool and drowned. I must find justice for my brother. Something is not right. I need help so that my mother and I would have closure".
