The trial of the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu resumed in an Abuja Court today after it was last adjourned. The defendants had filed a bail application so that the defendants could be released to go home.

But the Court refuses Nnamdi Kanu's bail application as the judge asked that the suspect be further detained in DSS Custody. According to Justice Nyako, “Until the issue of absence of the defendant for his trial, with all the bail conditions breached, is determined, the instant application of the defendant for bail will at best be premature and it is refused. "

Justice Nyako also sked parties to speed up proceedings to go into the main trial. This is in response to the prosecuting lawyers' amendment of the charges which now includes two of his lawyers in the charge as accomplices. The lawyers are Ifeanyi Ejiofor and Maxwell Opara. FG claims that these lawyers were constantly in contact with the accused after he jumped bail.
